Stroking Her Hand Across My New Wood Vertical Blinds

My best friend exclaimed "oh-my-gosh their real wood-their gorgeous!"

Wood vertical blinds command this type of attention in any setting you put them.

Like any piece of great wood furniture, wood vertical blinds will turn heads. The first thing people want to do is to is to be able to run their hands down the sleek graceful vanes and smell them.

Nothing compares to the beauty, smell and feel of real wood. Nothing!

Like any good piece of wood furniture quality wood vertical vanes are made up of smaller pieces of wood joined together. The reason for this is to help prevent warping.

Some manufactures of wood verticals use one solid piece of wood to make the vanes-its cheaper-but the quality is lacking and they will warp more. Of course some warping will occur even in quality made vanes. This is to be expected, and adds to the beauty of the product.

Quality wood vertical vanes come with a furniture grade finish. The 3-1/2 louvers are sanded oh-so-soft and then sprayed with a unique sealer that gives it that hard and durable outer shell.

If you look at this close up picture you will be able to see some of the fine detail work I have been talking about.

Wood vertical blinds do have some drawbacks. Because of there weight one-way-draw verticals will be limited in size to around 108" in width. Beround 108" you will need to have a split draw.

Like any good quality vertical they can be drawn one way to either the right or the left, and can be center drawn.

As I mentioned, wood vertical blinds tend to be on the heavy side. So, if your location is prone to constant wind or air current you may want to opt for another type of vertical.

You want to be on the lookout for imitators. Some manufacturers of wood verticals just wrap wood veneer around a pvc vertical vane. Most of these look exactly what they are- CHEAP, so this is not much of a problem.

Quality wood vertical blinds will still be looking good years from now long after the other type of vertical blinds have been replaced and long forgotten.

If your house showcases the rich traditions of wood then not to seriously consider a wood vertical blind would be a mistake.
