Want Your Bay Window Blinds To Give You Total Privacy

But the truth is that bay window blinds usually don't give you total privacy. Since it takes three separate blinds to cover the window the space between the blinds usually about a 1/2" never gets covered unless you have the center blind overlap the two side blinds and this looks terrible if not down right awful.

So what's the solution? The simplest solution is a pair of draperies on a bent traverse rod that cross each other in the center to give you the privacy you want. Since this site is about bay window blinds that answer won't work here.

The blind solution is to have installed a curved vertical that also will overlap in the center giving you the privacy you desire. The problem is that vertical tracks don't bend gracefully so you need a fairly big bay to accomplish this.

This is one of those areas where you would be better off going to a local blind store as this type system needs to have a template made and the site checked to see if the vertical will work.

Another place you could go would be to visit automatedshade.com/motorized.php

These people are expert in motorized shades and blinds. They use the BTX motorization system and are in the forefront when it comes to automated window treatments and there quality and products are second to none.

If you don't mind the little bit of privacy lost by the blinds butting together then you should read the page remote control blinds There is a good example of using remote control cell shades to solve bay window blinds problems.

In the majority of bay windows the windows are separated by a mullion which eliminates this problem. It's just when the glass is butted as they are doing in the new bays that you have the problem.

With these new butted glass bay windows being used in the new homes being built it won't be long before someone comes along with a new solution to the bay window blinds problem.
