Arch Window Blinds Leave a Lot to Be Desired

The problem with arch window blinds is basically you have two choices. You either put in a blind that blocks the sun but also can't be adjusted to let light in or else you install a blind that has to be adjusted by hand every time you want to change the degree of privacy.

Nether one of those option is very exciting. They both leave a lot to be desired.

Cell Shade Arches

Even though they leave a lot to be desired these arch window blinds are in every sense of the word good looking and functional.

Just look at this collection of Arch top treatments iconat blinds com. The color selection is enormous.

Like any cell shade the beauty of these shades is the light coming through and flooding the room with bolts of colorful soft light. This has the effect of softening everything in the room.

When I had the workroom we made a lot of these arches out of sheer drapery material. We would gather the material with a smocking tape to the right fullness and then velcro the finished product to a wooden frame.

Then by hand we would pull each smocking pleat taught and staple the other end to the board. To cover up all the staples we took a 6" fabric rose made out of the same material and glued it over the staples.

The finished product was awesome and brought the best out of any arched window we put them in.

These arch window blinds do the same thing they just set off any window you put them into.

BioArch

The perfect compliment to wood or faux wood blinds is the BioArch icon. I like the double arch effect that this arch has.

Each individual slat can be rotated to allow or block as much light as you want. When all the slats are in the closed position this is becomes a great insulating blind. When it's below zero you'll appreciate the beauty and warmth of these arch window blinds.

The disadvantage of this treatment is all the opening and closing of the slats is done by hand. This can be quite a tedious job if you have a number of these blinds throughout the house.

For those among you that are the inventor type this would be well worth working on as the number of houses with arched and lazy arched windows grows every day.

There is one other solution for arched window that I have found. It looks like a cellular shade mounted on a frame with a wand you can open or close the fabric inside.

You can find out about this shade at archedblind.com. I don't know anything about this blinds other than what the web site shows. The web site need some tender loving car so be cautious. The concept does look promising though.

In this day of high fuel costs to leave any window uncovered is like pouring money down the drain.
